When entrepreneur and investor Chris Burch approached Funkhaus for a relaunch of his company Burch Creative Capital, we knew that we'd be given the chance to approach private equity in a unique way, inspired by the colorful man himself. The final resulting brand and website capture the depth and breadth of their portfolio, with a playful, modern, and unexpected tone that is fitting for their approach to the investing game.

The system is built on the typeface Maax, which is a wonderful combination of classic, Bauhaus script with surprising modern moments - perfect for a company who's been a defining creative force in advertising for 30 years, and looks to continue that amazing legacy for the next 30. Their work has always done the talking, and their new mark is a confident and humble platform that matches their approach to the craft.
It took an all-Funkhaus-hands-on-deck effort to define the brand narrative and launch the dynamic website and content marketing program for MakeMake Entertainment. It all began as a brand positioning project for a collective of companies that, at the time, loosely operated as a singular, but undefined entity. Through extensive interviews with each company in a discovery phase, it became clear that a new brand architecture should be created with a singular studio as the unifying glue between the companies.
Enter MakeMake Entertainment.
Our journey through a major collaboration that brought out the best in both of us.
A dynamic brand update and website for More Media, fueled by a font we're obsessed with – Whyte Inktrap from Dinamo Typefaces, which reimagines "ink traps," used in hot press printing days-of-yore to avoid ink overflow, in our modern digital world.
Over 10 years memories can get a bit fuzzy, so we tapped Funkhaus Partners Dave, Drew, and Nick to fill in the blanks – Mad Libs style. Read them at the link below.

The Artificial Intelligence Foundation is at the forefront of AI technology’s application towards interactive, “digital humans.” Not only is the concept itself advanced, the use cases are incredibly nuanced and require a deft presentation to educate the general public on how it all works. Our task in building the website was to convey this complex story to multiple target audiences, making sure that it wasn’t the standard, cold, intimidating approach of a digital future world.

Greenpoint Pictures has been crafting iconic work and telling stories across mediums since 2003, and this year we got to help them tell their story with a full digital re-brand.
Their new identity balances their Brooklyn roots with their grown-up evolution; it's both edgy and sophisticated. On the website front, the Greenpoint team encouraged us to be creative and brave, and in turn we made them non-traditional layouts that show off their work, which is further brought to life through motion and their brand colors.
A deserved brand update for a veteran production team
