This may be "old news" to most of you, but I felt pretty good to realize I could cut a plastic drinking straw into rings and now I have all the markers I need!

Hey everyone, I’m just sharing my very first project here. I’m a complete beginner and thought I’d just do a very basic scarf to see how I get on but I’m now thinking I could’ve been a bit more adventurous with the stitch after seeing so many variations in here! 😲 Where is the best place to learn new stitches and find easy beginner patterns? 🧶

Ok so I’ve been lurking this page for a year and a month-since I began this project and began for true first time to knit. Please don’t judge me-it was an Annie’s Kit Club thing and waaaaaayyyyy to expensive. But, it gave me structure to do this sampler and now I know all these patterns and feel so excited to start on other projects! I washed it on gentle and pinned it to the guest bed to dry straight.

I’m starting to get the hang of it!! 🙂

Hey y’all, I’m very, very new to knitting so just in case I want to preface that I mean absolutely no offense with this question.

I just genuinely don’t understand the draw of acrylic yarns over natural fibers. I understand that price point may be a factor, but I’d love to better understand what the point of acrylic is (if that makes sense). For those who use acrylic, what are the benefits? Is there anything that knits better with acrylic yarn?

Thanks in advance 🙂 and thank you for being respectful (I’m sorry if this is a silly question!)

Pic of my WIP (2nd project, 1st sweater attempt🤪) for attention!

I used to knit a lot before, but I stopped for years after a friend made a comment about my ‘awful hand made crap’. I’m trying to get back into knitting, but I feel like a beginner again. Thank you to everyone who posts such amazing projects! They are inspiring!

I’ve had this yarn for years and always felt it was too good to use. Well, time to change that! Decided to make a scarf using a basic slip stitch for the pattern.

Also included my trusty yarn protector!
