Ingredients:
For the Spaghetti:
1 lb spaghetti pasta
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 lb ground beef
2 cups marinara sauce
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Cheese Mixture:
2 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Garlic Bread:
4 slices of French bread
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp parsley flakes
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Spaghetti:
Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Toss the cooked pasta with a tablespoon of olive oil to keep it from sticking.
2. Make the Beef Sauce:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion. Cook until the onion becomes translucent.
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Once browned, drain any excess fat.
Stir in the marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
3. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and the beaten egg. Stir until smooth.
4. Assemble the Baked Spaghetti:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of the beef sauce on the bottom. Add a layer of cooked spaghetti, followed by a generous portion of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with the beef sauce on top.
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the top of the casserole.
5. Bake:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
6. Make the Garlic Bread:
While the spaghetti bakes, spread softened butter on the French bread slices.
Sprinkle with garlic powder and parsley flakes.
Toast in a hot skillet or under the broiler for a few minutes until golden brown.
7. Serve:
Remove the baked spaghetti from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
Slice the garlic bread and serve alongside the cheesy spaghetti. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Serving:Enjoy this Cheesy Baked Spaghetti with a side of crispy garlic bread for a complete meal. Perfect for a cozy night in with family or friends!
