I have been a postman in West Wales for 6 years, all the postboxes I collect from are VR, GR or ER, this one is much older I think, still being used, positioned in an old barn wall. I can't make out the insignia at the bottom, any ideas anyone? Male, 57, has to have television and radio volume on an even number

I can't think of anything more dull today than my nursing home lunch. Unseasoned ground beef, mashed potatoes, and corn. No banana for scale, as the only fruit they serve here is canned. Female, 33, US size 9.5. Not pictured is me unceremoniously mixing it all together in hopes it would have more flavor that way. It did not.
Edit: to clarify, I am unfortunately a resident, not a staff member. Should I be starting a GoFundMe for door dash? 😂 Any of you lovely folks are more than welcome to message me, and your comments have made this otherwise dull day so much brighter!

Long time reader, first official post, couple weekends ago, this Dull Lady, had a great idea, hey I'll clean out part of the kitchen cupboards, it will only take a couple hours, it took all day, what a bad idea, lol, so I left this mess on the table for a day. Took a while to figure out what to keep and how to organize it all. I won't be doing that again, anytime soon. No bananas to be found in that cupboard, but I did find over 13 strainers. Shoe size 9 ish.

Per my pipefitter buddy, there is a correct way to place a washer on a bolt. The top one in this pic is the approved way. He told me this 20 odd years ago, and I cannot place a washer any other way than the approved method. Dull, but if I do not do it the correct way, I can't sleep at nite. Today I am at Manchester Airport waiting for a flight to Berlin. This is the first time I am going away by myself. I arrived at the airport almost four hours early (I know this may be excessive but I would prefer to be here on time and wait in departures).

On the way through security I was randomly chosen to be searched. The chap that did it rubbed me all over and ran a finger round the inside of my waistband, lo and behold, there was nothing to be found. The tray I put my bag and coat in also got pulled to one side for searching. I was informed by a member of staff that my tray had been searched because I'd put my coat in the same tray as my bag - silly me! Here's to having plenty of time on your side.

So far, I have done two of the four things I always do at the airport, which were browse the prices of ci******es and to***co in duty free and visit WH Smith. I have bought myself copies of Private Eye and Viz - essential. I did however slightly deviate from the regular drill as a bag of peanut m&m's caught my eye just before the self-service checkout. "Family size" it said. Although 440g of peanut m&m's are, on reflection, quite an amount for just one person, "what the hell", I thought - I'm on holiday!

Sadly, the burst of excitement was somewhat shortlived as upon scanning said m&m's I was informed by the self-service checkout they came with the princely price tag of EIGHT NINETY-NINE. Should have known better. I consequently decided to cancel my plan to have some airport pints but will shortly be going to Burger King. That's non-negotiable no matter how many m&m's I've eaten.

I bought this belt in 1996 in Savannah Georgia while I was living in the USA. It cost me $10 if I remember rightly, but I was persuaded by the sales person who promised it would last me a lifetime. I was a bit skeptical at the time, but could see it was really nice quality, with brass buckle, really thick leather and riveted construction. So now 27 ish years later and I wear this belt almost every day and I am amazed how well it has lasted. On examination the belt has a story to tell, mostly of an expanding waistline, which seems to have gone from 32 to 34 to 36 and heading for 38 inches. One day I'd like to go back and see if that shop is still there, and if it is I'll buy another one!
I find it amazing how much pleasure and satisfaction this simple and dull object gives me on a daily basis.
What similar dull but long lasting possessions of yours give you that same satisfaction?

My family & I went out to dinner last night, as the waitress placed the oysters on the table I immediately noticed the placement of the crackers. One package was not facing up & the other too close to the oyster. After the picture was taken by my husband I fixed it, silently & went about dinner. As it was time for bed, the thought of the crackers kept me up for some time. My family is not as dull as me, not even sure they noticed. So I came here with this because I know this group will understand me. The lemon placement was a little bothersome as well, but not nearly as much as the placement of the crackers.
US F29, size 8.5. No bananas for scale, as they did not serve bananas or allow outside food/drinks into the establishment.
