BIO: Melanie Star Scot’s debut film, “The Box” earned multiple awards, including a Bronze Telly, Best Actor for David Topp at the Young Artists Awards and Best Costuming. It was also acquired for worldwide television broadcast on ShortsHD TV for three years—an impressive achievement for a first-time director.

Her second film, “Quitter,” a satirical PSA on addiction, won a Bronze Telly for excellence in Health & Wellness.

Between the ages of two and four, my son, Seth, hit andpunched me on a regular basis. I didn’t learn this until he was sixteen, butSeth is Autistic. He didn’t know how to express his discomfort any other way.Because of my history, however, our interactions triggered me – to the point Ibegan to doubt I had the emotional strength to raise Seth successfully – but Iknew I had to push through those fears and stop the cycle of abuse that plaguedour family for generations.
