Official Poster Reveal: I DIDN’T SEE YOU THERE

Spurred by the spectacle of a circus tent that goes up outside his Oakland apartment, a disabled filmmaker launches into an unflinching meditation on freakdom, (in)visibility, and the pursuit of individual agency.

XTR FILMMAKER SPOTLIGHT: Rachel Morrison

Cinematographer Rachel Morrison first emerged as a refreshing voice at the forefront of independent cinema, and has since built an extensive body of work; channeling each story’s core emotion into arresting imagery. That same year she was the first woman to have lensed a Marvel superhero movie, the box office hit BLACK PANTHER.

Her latest project is the upcoming docuseries THEY CALL ME MAGIC about the life and career of Magic Johnson. Morrison worked alongside Director Rick Famuyiwa and Editor Dirk Westervelt for the project. The series is jointly produced by XTR, H.Wood Media, New Slate Ventures, and Delirio Films.

SUNDANCE REVIEW: SIRENS

“Without a doubt, the most compelling portrait of a female Lebanese thrash metal band you’ve ever seen. But it’s also a clear standout at Sundance and far more than a novelty act. In a documentary genre that can easily slide into cliché, ‘Sirens’ exists [in] another world.”

"Hunting’s charming, totally immersive feature debut creates a brand-new filmmaking language, adapting cinematic camerawork to the VR social platform VRChat. Motivated by the humanity at the heart of technology, he reveals a world in which gender, sexuality, disability, and trauma are being navigated with an entirely new set of tools to find a fresh flavor of freedom that only an alternate reality can offer."
