Our Story
Alec and his team of relentlessly capable volunteers are dedicated to creating the most human music sessions and interviews with your favorite artists- both the ones you love and the ones you’ll love soon. All started by just a dude who loves folk, punk, and especially folk-punk.
On their radio show (Thursdays at 9pm PST) they enjoy creating and sharing playlists, giving away free tickets to concerts and events, hosting guests for interviews and performances, and meandering conversation that sometimes approaches profundity.
Or maybe they just talk in circles, but that’s fun too. Anyway, let’s dance!

Our friends at KXLU Los Angeles 88.9 FM’s A Fistful Of Vinyl filmed an awesome live session during Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers' soundcheck last year.

Hobo Johnson live session X A Fistful of Vinyl
Hey, so I rediscovered a band I used to listen to all the time and forgot about, Little Ghost Things. I wanted to see if they ever had side projects or had more releases other than their self-titled, but I found nothing. They basically don't exist on the internet except the album upload by someone unrelated on YouTube.
I did see that y'all played a song from their self-titled (The Girl with Photo Emulsion Hair), so I was wondering if you knew anything. That self-titled was so, so, so good
Hi, Friends. We wanted bring a song back that we haven't played in a little while but that means a lot to us. "Don't Wait Up" was written for our self-titled record - and we almost left it off. It's about the civil rights struggles that have been raging in our country for centuries, and how it affects families, especially the trauma experienced between sons and fathers. Now more than ever, stories matter. Words matter.
Cheers to A Fistful Of Vinyl for shooting and editing live at our beloved Troubadour. Were you there with us in February?

For a long time this song was an A Fistful Of Vinyl exclusive! Now you can find a demo of it on our bandcamp, or if you like this recording, you can get the audio by subscribing to my patreon for just a dollar!
