This is Steve Lee posting and NOT one of his interns who is working late at the shop and has access to all his social media. I have the best interns in Hollywood who work really hard and he should really take us to movie premieres and screenings and stuff because they're the BEST.
Sincerely,
Steve

Harvest Moon Motion Pictures & Television

For Immediate release:
Harvest Moon Motion Pictures is proud to announce that Sound Designer and Sound Effects Wrangler STEVE LEE has joined the crew of “The Possessed.” Through his company The Hollywood Radiophonic Laboratory, Lee will draw upon his experience from his almost 30 year career in film sound - and the vast sound effects library he’s collected in that time - to create the audio that will help bring The Possessed to life.

Having grown up listening and studying sound effects from early classic science fiction and horror films, Steve Lee began his career in 1988 at Weddington Productions. There he cataloged and managed the enormous collection of sound elements from their work on films such as “Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Gremlins,” and “RoboCop.” Lee would go on to contribute sounds to almost every film that came through the company since, including “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” “Lion King,” “Apollo 13,” “The Fifth Element,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Looney Tunes: Back in Action,” and many others.

In 2010 Lee formed his own company, The Hollywood Radiophonic Laboratory, a place for creative and innovative sound effects design with old-school sensibilities. Lee is also in the early stages of forming The Hollywood Sound Museum, an organization dedicated to establishing a repository for audio created for entertainment media and its history, for education, research, & preservation.

Delia Derbyshire gets her own road

We're thrilled to hear that one of our heroes, Delia Derbyshire, will have a street in her hometown named in her honor - "Derbyshire Way."

Here’s a sure new pilgrimage site for electronic music fans. Late great composer Delia Derbyshire of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop will have a street named after her in her hometown of Coventry, as reported by the BBC. And because Delia is more than a composer, but a state of mind: Pete Chambers BEM,...

Since there were so many unwanted sounds from the puppetry and other visual effects in this bar scene from Gremlins (1984), absolutely no audio from the production recording made during the actual filming was used in the final mix here - EXCEPT for one squeal from Phoebe Cates (when she sees the flasher Gremlin). All her other reactions were re-recorded later. The gremlin voices were supervised by Mark Mangini, and all other sound effects (such as the classic Warner Brothers cartoon sounds) were overseen by Richard Anderson.
