Learning who I truly am; without the influence of substances or someone I’m dating, has been a life changer. I’m learning that I can be whole without something or someone else to complete me. It’s been a ride man but my soul is happy.

What I’ve learned after 294 days sober:

Having almost 1 year of sobriety under my belt doesn’t make me immune. Time in recovery gives me experience, but it doesn’t mean I can stop doing the things that got me here. That's truly what creates complacency. Are you self aware of this too?

What I’ve learned after 293 days sober:

When you’re used to constant chaos, peace can initially feel like emptiness. It's an "on edge" feeling, it's uncomfortable, it feels weird. I’m slowly learning that nothing being wrong doesn’t mean something is missing. Are you used to constant chaos too?

What I’ve learned after 292 days sober:

I want to become friendlier in recovery spaces. It rly costs nothing to introduce myself, welcome a newcomer or make someone feel less alone, and it might be the reason they come back. What do you do when you're nervous to go up to someone?

What I’ve learned after 291 days sober:

A bad day can just be a bad day. I can feel angry, bored, sad or overwhelmed... without turning one uncomfortable feeling into months/years of destruction. I can't imagine losing everything twice.

What I’ve learned after 290 days sober:

I personally need AA meetings. When I stop going, I can slowly become complacent
