Greg Gumbel, a veteran of CBS Sports and a broadcasting legend who spent more than 50 years in sports broadcasting, has died of cancer at the age of 78.

In the amazing word by the late Stuart Scott …

Greg Gumbel leaves us with so many great memories and moments as he was the voice and the face of and the for so many years. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends during this tough time.

The beef surrounding and the "First Take" crew stems back to debates over whether or not Day should be fired, with Smith doubling down on his original opinion. Sharpe, meanwhile, clearly had some negative feelings toward Herbstreit for criticizing the show that airs on the network he also works for.

So we ask what say you… do y’all think the response from both and was warranted or is this a case of getting in their feelings or is this for tv ratings. It’s not like this is the first time somebody is disagreed with them on live tv or radio.

So with the new College Football Playoff system, they should do away with bowl alliances with conferences. Bowl officials should now go after elite matchups that are going to make food football on the field while filling up seats to watch a good game. And yes, even if the two teams are in the same conference, let’s put them on the field and spot the ball.

The winner of that game will advance to play No. 4 in a quarterfinal.

An epic finish for Clemson Football as freshmen kicker Nolan Hauser puts it through the uprights as time expired from 56 yards out to give the win 34-31 over SMU and win the championship and have punched their ticket to the College Football Playoff. The Tigers will wait for the selection committee to announce at 12pm on ESPN where they will be seeded.
