Kyle Murdock probably tired of me asking him to narrate everything I do - no matter what he says it sounds lit 🔥 Neil Hausey Substantial

What’s true friendship??

I knew had to be the one to capture and tell this story

📹 2004 being dumb kids on a school bus with my dad’s camcorder ➡️ 2024 in LA shooting a music video and Neil Hausey pulls out a camcorder and says “I figured you would appreciate this.” 😭

👾 The LEVEL UP music video is officially out - shot with my brothers and told in VHS and 4K. One weekend in November 2024, one request: let’s celebrate and enjoy each other.

🎮 Background: LEVEL UP wasn’t just an album. I unknowingly created the first rap album you can actually PLAY - a full video game where the music IS the game.

Featured in and the 2024 Game Devs of Color Expo.

Building it took 10 months in 2023. With AI tools today, probably 10 days. But I’m glad I did it the hard way - knowing how things actually work never stops paying off.

Hope the vibes from that weekend make their way to you 🙏🏾

Orbit is officially out in the world. You can stream it now, and if you’re curious how the songs came together, Josh and I are breaking it all down on YouTube. The stories, the process, and the moments behind the music.

There are also a few CDs and vinyl left if you want something tangible. Available now on Bandcamp.

As I’m finalizing the sleeve covers to place the orders for the Orbit vinyl just want to say thank you to everyone who made the Kickstarter possible 🙏🏾

These photos are from Neil Hausey taken during the January 17th weekend when JB, Ashlee and I did the heaviest and least fun part of the album - the planning.

Fast forward 10 months and we’re locking down the orders for some of the best and most meaningful music we’ve ever made.

When I stopped performing it didn’t mean I stopped creating. Having more time to create didn’t lead me to create more - it actually made space cor me to be more thoughtful about the experiences of the listener on the end of that creative process.

I hope these songs slap for you the way we intended 🙏🏾🚀💫

The Kickstarter is officially wrapping up, and vinyl orders are about to go in. If you missed the campaign but still want one, there’s a final preorder now live on my site before we lock quantities (no extra runs - it’s part of the experience)

This is hands-down the best music I’ve ever made… not because it’s flashy, but because Josh and I took our time and put our entire souls into it. Every verse, every melody came from a real place with a story behind it. This song is particularly special to me because it highlights that home is where my people are AND my wife Ashlee not only helped create but also features on it. ❤️

Whenever life hit hard, I always turned to music to process the chaos and this album is the result of those moments. My hope is that these songs hit you the same way they helped me.

🎧 Preorder the vinyl before we place the order - no second runs! (Link in Bio)
