8 years ago, yet it feels like yesterday. This was taken before motherhood transformed my entire world. Back then, my time, energy, and attention belonged solely to me. Now, they belong to my children — and somehow I occasionally forget to brush my absurdly long hair in the process.

Motherhood is chaotic, exhausting, and beautifully consuming, but I would never exchange this life for anything.

Life has a remarkable way of unfolding far beyond the plans we once so carefully envisioned. As I celebrate another Mother’s Day, I find myself reflecting on a version of myself who never truly imagined motherhood would become the defining chapter of her life. There was once a time when my heart was entirely set on travelling across different countries, building my career, chasing ambitions, and experiencing every corner of the world that called to me. And I did exactly that—exploring places I had only once dreamed of and accomplishing goals I had held dearly for so many years.

Yet even in the midst of those accomplishments and adventures, there remained a quiet emptiness within me—an unexplainable space I could never quite name.

Then the world slowed down during COVID, and in that unexpected stillness, my own life transformed most profoundly and beautifully imaginable. It was during that season that I became a mother to my daughter, and suddenly, everything I had never fully understood about love, purpose, and life itself began to reveal its meaning. She filled parts of my soul I never realized were waiting to be awakened—bringing a love so pure, consuming, and unconditional that it softened me, strengthened me, and changed the very essence of who I am.

And then came my son—my precious boy—arriving exactly when he was meant to, as though God had lovingly written his place within our story long before I could ever comprehend it myself. He completed our family in an entirely different way, bringing balance, warmth, laughter, and a bond with his sister that feels nothing short of extraordinary. Watching them together has become one of life’s greatest privileges—her guiding and protecting him, and him following her with complete admiration and trust. They are each other’s first best friend, first safe place, and first glimpse of unconditional love.

This photograph from my second pregnancy captures a quiet yet deeply sacred moment in time—a season where my heart was already expanding to love a little boy I had not yet met, but somehow already knew.

My children are far more than I could have ever dreamed or prayed for. They are my greatest blessing, my deepest joy, and the clearest reminder that God’s plans will always surpass anything we could ever create for ourselves. Motherhood may not have been the path I originally envisioned, but without question, it has become the most beautiful, meaningful, and life-changing chapter of my existence.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother carrying the weight of love so selflessly each day, and also to the fathers who have stepped into both roles with unwavering strength, sacrifice, and devotion. Your love does not go unseen. šŸ¤

Having children changed the way I view the world in the quietest but most powerful way. It made me realize that the values we hope our children carry are not taught through speeches or perfectly written words, but through the small everyday moments they witness without us even noticing.

I want my children to grow up seeing warmth in our home, gentleness in how we speak to others, patience during difficult moments, and compassion for people who may never be able to return the favor. Because at the end of the day, character is not built through appearances — it is revealed in how we treat people when life is inconvenient, stressful, or when nobody is paying attention at all.

More than success or status, I hope my children learn to become people who leave others feeling respected, safe, and valued. To me, that will always be one of the greatest measures of a meaningful life ā¤ļø

If clandestine conversations and fictitious fabrications about me satiate your inadequacies, by all means, indulge. Your verbose delusions fail to perturb the equilibrium of my happiness in the slightest.
