Welcome, Subterranean’s official Story Artist, Bennee Greene! 🧑🎨🪲
After sifting through the Co/Create submissions, Subterranean creator has unearthed the perfect collaborator, whose art style perfectly fits the eerie, hidden world below.
“What really resonated with me about Bennee’s submission is the look of the underground world. It’s dark and mysterious, but also beautiful and kind of epic? One of the major themes of Subterranean is that there is still life in decay, and Bennee’s submission encapsulates that perfectly,” Alana shares 🚃
Bennee was drawn to Subterranean by its massive insects and secret, shadowy world in desperate need of a hero. “My favorite books growing up were Gregor the Overlander. This story is similar to it (I think). Also how it plays with the chosen one trope and gives us a VERY unexpected hero. It’s the kind of story I would read, whether I’m a part of it or not.”
Bennee envisions Greg as “a guy who’s very unassuming and would look kind of comical as the hero of a story without him looking like a caricature,” and has captured that brilliantly!
