We had a FABULOUS time last night at ’s Clone Row Release Party at !

The band absolutely SMOKED, with Ches leading the proceedings on drum kit, electronics and vibraphone, while bassist .dunston held the ground while propelling the momentum forward and guitarists and danced and locked antlers around and above it all. A truly transcendent set from a unit who’s just getting warmed up on their two week tour.

Also on the bill was the ecstatic glitched out bliss of the , Tomeka Reid and Ikue Mori trio, and an incendiary solo set from the one and only .

Thanks to everyone who came out! 🙏

“Waltz for Meghan” - the latest single from the Chad Taylor Quintet’s Smoke Shifter is Streaming Now!

A gorgeous composition by Taylor, the track is expertly arranged and executed by the Quintet, featuring lovely harmonies and solos by hornsmen Jonathan Finlayson and Bryan Rogers, a lilting melody and subtle accompaniment by Victor Vieira-Branco on vibes, and the laid back but propulsive rhythm section of Taylor on drums and Matt Engle on upright bass, who also takes a tasty solo midway-through the track.

Though he has held many jobs in his 25+ year career, Otherly Love Records founder Stephen Buono has long been a music obsessive. It was only a matter of time before he started his own label. In late 2023, that became a reality and just over a year later, we were thrilled to get a story in the February 2025 issue of DownBeat Magazine, a publication Stephen has been reading for over two decades. Thanks to publisher Frank Alkyer and writer Phil Freeman for their attention to telling our story faithfully.
