The EPA recently approved new pesticides made with PFAS - “forever chemicals” that don’t break down easily in the environment and so sneak into our food and water supply, build up in our bodies, and lead to all kinds of health risks from liver damage to cancer.
But the good news is, introducing more toxic chemicals into our food and water supply is unpopular with just about everyone on both sides of the aisle. MAHA activists (with whom I disagree about a great many things) are pushing for the firing of the EPA’s administrator over this decision.
Since this administration’s regulators aren’t actually doing much regulating, it falls on us to combat PFAS exposure, fight for clean air and water, and demand at every level of governance that safer pollution standards are drawn up and enforced.
