After the previous night’s main event ended with both The Undertaker and Kane pinning WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin, Vince McMahon opened Monday Night Raw to declare that neither man had won the title.

Surrounded by WWE staff in the ring, McMahon was about to speak when cameras cut to Austin driving a Zamboni through the backstage area and straight to the ring. He climbed onto the machine, leapt off, and attacked McMahon—creating one of the most replayed moments in WWE history.

In the unforgettable main event, England’s own British Bulldog defeated his brother-in-law Bret “Hitman” Hart to win the Intercontinental Championship in a classic match that many consider one of the greatest in WWE history, and the very best of Hart’s career.
