Repost from @sophiagalate • I wrote a love song about the city that changed my life - Chicago. If you know me, YOU KNOW that i’m in a long term, long distance relationship with this city. This was the hardest song for me to finish. I rearranged and re-recorded it multiple times, in multiple cities (between Chicago and LA) but with the help of these incredible musicians, the song came to life. The Prince and EWF story dates back to the early days of his career, when Bob Cavallo, EWF’s manager, started representing the mysterious Wünder kid from Minneapolis shortly after inking his Warner deal. Already a fan from childhood, Prince’s love for EWF and now being a part of the family through management created some very intriguing crossover collaborations - one of the most notable being his filming and recording of some club scenes in his opus “Purple Rain” at the Complex, EWF’s infamous production facility. This very same facility (where @revival.la is based) was also what became the blueprint for Paisley Park, as Prince found affinity in the concept of weaving sound stages, video production and recording facilities under one roof. Prince then enlisted all of the architects and studio designers who built the complex to do the same for him in Minnesota. Thus, Paisley Park, Prince’s home and creative playground, was born.
