Director Marko Steez

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Marko Steez is a self taught entrepreneur and creative that has been in business since 2015.

Before all of this though, he was a kid playing with an old Polaroid camera in his grandmother’s house on the East Side of Kansas City.

At 17 years old, Marko got his first DSLR Canon and started doing photography in his hometown. He quickly learned his way around a camera and became well-known in Kansas City and the surrounding areas for his work. After only a year of doing photography he started shooting local music videos for rap and hip-hop artists in the Kansas City area and eventually caught people’s attention with his work which led him to work with well-known Kansas City artists including Tech N9ne and Rory Fresco.

The same year, Marko landed a spot with a record label called “Strange Music” and went straight into music video production for their artists. Marko took on many roles within Strange Music’s production team including AC (assistant camera), G&E (Grip and Electric / Gaffer), Editor, and even Director. He started putting music videos under his belt with budgets that ranged from $5,000 to $50,000.

Marko directed and produced more than 75 music videos in Kansas City before 2017 and he had proved himself as a promising upcoming director. His appetite for success and his creative vision kept growing. Marko also collaborated with other upcoming creatives from the same area including now well-known directors ‘Rico Did It’ and Logan Meis on music video and commercial productions. Working with them made Marko realize that there was more potential to grow outside of the city.

By the time he was 19 years old, Marko knew he wanted to make a big impact in the film and music industry, and in Late 2016 he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue larger productions and more creative work.

Being on his own in a whole new environment pushed him to evolve and grow his skills faster than ever before. Using everything he had learned in Kansas City, Marko quickly started building a name for himself in Atlanta.

Less than a year after moving to Atlanta he landed a role as Director of Photography for the “Narcs” music video by Lil Baby in the Summer of 2017. From there he kept working with other promising upcoming artists such as Gunna, Money Man, and Quando Rondo, and directed music videos for Multi-Platinum selling artist, K Camp.

After a few years of hard work and many sleepless nights, Marko has now completed over 650 music videos by 2020 and has worked with all types of artists in multiple genres. Some of his most popular videos come from artists such as Future, Da Baby, Lil Durk, Migos, and many more.

Since then, Marko has started 3 businesses to branch out into the film and music industry.

Marko’s multi-media and production company called “Capital Media Entertainment” specializes in film and visual production, photography, production and film equipment rental, and production services, expanding his business far beyond music videos with his new team.

“The Film Truck” was started when Marko bought a 1 ton grip truck and offered equipment rentals to other directors and creatives in the Atlanta, GA area. He has now grown the business and owns a 1 ton grip truck and a 3 ton grip truck that are both used on his own productions and rented out to others with customizable Camera, Grip and Electric, and Lighting packages.

Marko also built a platform called “The Playlist” that creates and hosts exclusive multi-media content on social media and it’s YouTube channel including music videos, behind the scenes, vlogs, interviews, and keeps growing to produce more new and exciting content that is created by him and his team.
