I’ve been noticing how quickly the mind can move from an event to a conclusion.
Someone doesn’t reply, and we create a meaning.
Something doesn’t work out, and suddenly we think we’re falling behind.
Someone disagrees with us, and the mind may turn disagreement into rejection.
Sometimes our interpretation is accurate.
Sometimes it isn’t.
I’m learning that awareness doesn’t require fighting every thought or trying to keep the mind perfectly quiet.
Sometimes it simply means creating enough space to notice:
What do I actually know?
And what am I assuming?
That little space between a thought and our reaction can change a lot.
