According to the American Medical Association, autism is influenced by a combination of environmental, biological, and genetic factors.
Yet, some parents believe that early childhood vaccinations may be linked to autism — a belief that continues to fuel passionate debate.
The AMA maintains there's no scientific evidence supporting that link.
