Looking for something great to watch this holiday season? We've got you covered!
Check out these 10 must-watch 2021 #RockieAwards winners. 📺
📷 1: In Killing Eve, Villanelle and Eve’s connection has evolved from a cat and mouse game to an obsession and the core of the show’s success has been the dynamic, sensitive and often hilarious performances of leads Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.
📷 2: Titled in honour of coach Phil Jackson's name for the Chicago Bulls' 1997 NBA season, Netflix and Mandalay Sports Media's The Last Dance chronicles Michael Jordan and the Bulls' quest to win a sixth NBA title in eight years.
📷 3: At its core, 'Staged' is an attempt to rehearse a delayed West End play online during lockdown. In using the simplest of means available to stars Michael Sheen & David Tennant (and guests) in their own homes, it shows that good writing and a fantastic cast are all you need.
📷 4: The Flight Attendant is a dark comedic thriller about the ways an entire life can change in one night: A flight attendant wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man—and no idea what happened... and no idea of the mystery about to unfold.
📷 5: 'Roald & Beatrix: The Tail of the Curious Mouse' depicts the real-life meeting of two of the world’s most beloved children’s authors and serves as a reminder that we are all stronger and braver than we think in the face of tragedy.
📷 6: In 'I May Destroy You,' Michaela Coel took a story of victimhood and wove it into an innovative tale exploring what it means to be a victim—its loneliness, rage, and despair. But her scripts also explore hope, friendship and the power of creativity, and of the human spirit.
📷 7: 'Brazen' (Culottées) presents portraits of 30 women, each revolutionary, who wrote their own destinies and changed the world! Astronaut, empress, animal interpreter…whoever they were, those Brazen ladies were out to tear down prejudice and bring hope to next generations.
📷 8: Bluey is a contemporary and authentic look at modern family life, brilliantly capturing both parent and child perspectives. Drawing on comedy, the series comments on kindness and emotional play, accurately depicting the way kids play and make sense of the world.
📷 9: 'Happily Married' is the story of two discontented couples who bring their kids to summer camp. Soon, infidelity and betrayal are exposed. In a society where divorce is rare, what can they do? Become the most infamous criminals in the history of organized crime in Quebec City.
📷 10: BBC Studios ' 'Famalam' ushered in the next graduating class of British comedic talent. It features deft direction, sublime editing, and scripts and sketches that are still resonating through the culture months after their initial release.
