A shallow sea therapy pool at a coastal facility. A blind veteran in his 40s in swim trunks stands waist-deep in still water, arms out at his sides, completely still β listening. A dolphin circles him once, twice, then slows and glides directly to him, pressing its rostrum gently against the man's open hand. The man's face shifts β jaw tightens, brows pull together. He's trying not to react. Then his chin drops to his chest. The dolphin holds perfectly still, pressed against his palm, not moving. A therapist standing at the pool edge turns away and puts a hand over her mouth.
