🦈 The 400-Year-Old Shark Who’s Seen It All
She was born around 1620, when Shakespeare still echoed in theaters and pirates ruled the seas.
And she’s still alive.
The Greenland shark grows slowly in the cold abyss — just 1 cm a year — cruising beneath Arctic ice in near darkness.
Scientists used eye tissue to date her age: over four centuries old.
She reached puberty at 150, is nearly blind thanks to a parasite, and never saw Netflix — but she outlived empires, revolutions, and entire dynasties.
A silent witness of deep time, gliding through secrets science is only beginning to understand.

The First Alarm Clock Could Only Ring at One Time

The first Mechanical alarm clock, made in 1787, could only ring at 4 AM

Set your alarm... for 4 AM. ā°šŸ˜“
That’s all you got.

In 1787, An American inventor named Levi Hutchins created the first mechanical alarm clock. But there was one tiny problem, it could only ring at one time.

That time was 4 a.m. Why? Because Levi built it for himself, and that’s when he wanted to wake up. There was no snooze button, no custom settings, and definitely no peaceful chimes.

It took Decades before alarm clocks became adjustable. Until then, if you wanted to wake up at 7 or 8, tough luck—you had to wait for better tech.

Still, Levi’s invention changed the way we live. Before alarm clocks, people relied on roosters, church bells, or paid ā€œknocker-uppersā€ to tap on windows with sticks.

That 4 a.m. bell marked the start of modern mornings.

The Oldest Known ā€œYour Momā€ Joke Is Over 3,500 Years Old

The world’s oldest known joke, found in ancient Babylonian text, is a 3,500-year-old ā€œyour momā€ Insult.

Turns out, ancient Babylonians were savage. šŸ˜†šŸ“œ

One of The oldest written jokes in History? A ā€œyour momā€ diss.

Found on a 3,500-year-Old Babylonian tablet, the joke is partly broken, but scholars translated enough to recognize it as an insult aimed at someone’s mother.

The full Joke Goes something like, ā€œ...of your mother is by the one who has in*******se with her.ā€ Crude? Yes. But proof that sarcasm and shade have ancient roots.

Humor was alive long before memes. People in ancient Mesopotamia threw verbal punches just like today, and moms were already part of the punchline.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.....

A Chicken Survived for 18 Months Without a Head

In 1945, a chicken named Mike survived for 18 months after being decapitated.

You’re not Ready for this one. šŸ”šŸ˜³

In 1945, a farmer in Colorado tried to prepare dinner by chopping off a chicken’s head. But the bird didn’t die.

Instead, it stood up and walked away.

The Axe had missed the brain stem. With just enough of his brain intact, the chicken—nicknamed Mike—kept living. The farmer fed him with a dropper. Mike even gained weight.. ...

He toured the country as ā€œMiracle Mikeā€ and became a sideshow celebrity. Scientists studied him. Kids wrote letters. People lined up to see the headless chicken that wouldn’t quit.

He eventually choked to death when mucus blocked his throat. But his legend lives on in small-town America.

Sometimes truth is way weirder than fiction.
