A new State Department report on human trafficking shows the growing focus, and pervasiveness, of the terrible trade.
Not long ago, the world wasn't ready for these conversations; there was no #metoo campaign; the cries and groans of a society, shattered by gender division, were only beginning to be voiced, and in a uninformed and suppressed global culture, largely dismissed; feminism was considered radical; LGBTQ, taboo and viscerally challenged; unity, non-lucrative, unnecessary, and a novelty at best. Yet the world is different now, and while the pain has become even greater, so has the voice; we are a different kind of human race now; with an opportunity to unite and prosper, or divide and crumble,
Where we once wanted to create a synchronized, “by the book”, politically correct process of healing and human reformation, we have come to understand it is not only impossible, but not impactful; to heal is to walk out of hell; to grow is to stretch, bend, and even break at times; you don’t “fix” the past; nor do you erase it: you redefine and repurpose it. After the trauma; after the escape; after the care facilities, there is you and you alone; many amazing and selfless people fight daily to help victims and their life once again; but in the end, for each of us, only we and we alone can choose to take back our lives. That is what it means to become truly free.
This coming year will see us pioneer a documentary film / research project launch on experiential healing through dance, launching in Washington D.C.; it will find us shaking up the fashion / modeling worlds to impact college age students through a fashion gala / advocacy event in Phoenix, AZ. We will be on the ground in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and surrounding cities, creating partnerships with influencers, advocacy specialists, officials, and communities; as well as creating awareness films, vlogs, and content, all aimed at sending a powerful and controversial message to young adults; that there is another path, empowered over submissive femininity; free of the binds of toxic masculinity; and demanding, as a non-negotiable, unity. To re-establish and re-instate the royalty, value, and innate worth, present in every human being. It is why we push challenging messages and unorthodox imagery; to spark a conversation, and thought, even if it’s hard to hear; always remembering, the roar of debate is always one step closer to a solution than the silence of suppression.
To the coming year,

The most audacious step King ever took was not to stand against the oppression of those who made themselves an enemy, but to forgive them.

Science is catching up with the truth about porn, and it's raising some serious concerns about how normalized porn is in society. Check out some of the facts, right here.
"Thus, here we have the inconvenient, uncomfortable, and even overtly offensive truth; that exploitation, not only in industry, but in human regard, does not end until we address and offer healing to both the women being victimized, as well as the men responsible for victimization. Until we recognize and respond to both as captives, none can truly be free."

“I’m a survivor, I’m not gon’ give up.” For many of us, especially millennials, we recall this bold and popular pop-anthem by Destiny’s Child, in 2001. For some, it was simply another overplayed pop sensation hit. Yet for many, and notably young women, this was a statement; a challenging...
In a few short days, I will begin sharing what has been stirring in my heart for the last three years; “The Vincent Testimonies”; a series of blogs and short films, encompassing my personal story and journey through healing, and how this journey led me to a focus of anti-human trafficking advocacy and healing work. On this day, however, that story most appropriately begins with the memory of and dedication to my mother, Elaine Walker.
Today is your birthday, and so I release this beginning segment and trailer on this day, as I am reminded that the themes and determination captured in this piece were inspired by you. You were the foundation of my beliefs that women are worthy of respect; each one a Queen in her own right. You raised me to live out that belief; you met me with grace, love, and patience in the times that I failed to. You taught me to fight for everything I believe in; above all, you taught me this was not a war waged with weapons or hatred, but with love.
In honor of you, mother and Queen, I address all women who, in one way or another, this post or video may reach. Though I cannot ever deliver words to erase the pain and victimization so many of you have experienced in your lives, nor can I erase the roles I played in that culture, I do offer this; my heart and life long dedication to building social movements, programs, and ultimately, a culture, founded on the utmost honor of a woman that my mother taught me. Maybe now, it seems impossible, yet I and those I stand with believe not only that it can be done, but will be.
To every woman and girl that may see this, you are not alone; in the darkness, there are people praying; working; fighting; believing for you now.
Storm the beaches. Believe in the seemingly impossible. Fight for honor and equality; but in all these things, do it with love. If we as men and women unite, not Hell, nor darkness, nor doubt, nor even death, can stop us.
To my mother,
To the Queens,
- Vincent Xahalia
