Scheduled Worry is a wellness concept that lets you limit how much of your valuable time and energy is spent worrying.

Here's what the three-part process looks like:⁠

1. ⁠
Worry Awareness — Recognizing when you're entertaining worrying thoughts.⁠

2. ⁠
Worry Delay — Acknowledging the worrying thoughts and choosing to put them ‘on hold’ to work on (or worry about) later.⁠

Did you know that you don't need to do an entire yoga session to start benefiting from yoga? ⁠

A 5-minute stretch where you do just the poses to help you stay well is just fine for most days or every day.⁠

Some poses like the Cobra and Downward Facing Dog poses help with a variety of everyday complaints such as back pain so it helps to look for the poses to provide relief for what ails or concerns you. ⁠

In this new series, we'll be featuring the benefits of some of our favorite all-around helpful yoga poses. ⁠

And we start today with the Wheel pose⁠

1. The Wheel stretches and opens up the intercostal muscles used in breathing. As you backbend up and out of your ribs and chest, the intercostal muscles get an amazing stretch.⁠

2. It strengthens your shoulder muscles which will help to improve your posture.⁠

3. If you sit at a desk or computer all day, the Wheel will help to stretch your hip adductors which can defer back and shoulder pain.⁠

4. It's a great inversion exercise which are great for depression sufferers because the pose sends a flood of blood to the brain.⁠

5. It's a heart-opener, which means it helps you to maintain emotional stability. ⁠

Juneteenth, an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, has been celebrated by black Americans since the late 1800s.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
It marks the June 19, 1865 date that General Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas to declare that the 4-year long Civil War was finally over and the Union now had the manpower to enforce the end of slavery. Granger is said to have delivered a message which in part read:⁠

“The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired labor.” ⁠

Of course, as we know, many states promptly enacted a collection of statutes that were referred to as Jim Crow laws. These laws, enacted in the name of states’ rights, legalized racial segregation as a response to the federal mandate ending slavery. ⁠

Between 1865 and 1960, Texas passed 29 Jim Crow laws including the Miscegenation law which made it a felony to marry anyone of African ancestry. Between 1866 and 1955, the state of Tennessee enacted 20 such laws and between 1866 and 1960, Kentucky enacted over 40.⁠ Kentucky issued its last official Jim Crow law, ‘The Voting Rights’ law in 1960 which required that the race of all candidates were to be written on voting ballots. ⁠
⁠⁠
Black Americans have celebrated the Juneteenth holiday primarily with backyard barbeques, and cities like Atlanta and Detroit have marked the holiday with parades and concerts.⁠
⁠⁠
With Juneteenth becoming the 11th federal holiday earlier this week, Juneteenth 2021 will see even more and even bigger celebrations.

Corporations that have been observing the holiday before 2021 include @Adobe, @Lyft, @Nike, @Spotify, and @Target who began observing Juneteenth last year.
