TIP OF THE DAY

If you sit down and write three or four pages a day, in one month at the most you should have the first draft of a script. It won't be a final draft but nobody can take that away from you.

Writers write, so Write Hard!

TIP OF THE DAY

As an exercise, try to write the most exciting, intense, hilarious, action packed, spine tingling, etc, scene without a single word of dialogue. This will help you understand and put into practice the visual needs inside of a script.

Write Hard!

TIP OF THE DAY

Don't back away from conflict. Embrace it. If you have a character walk away from conflict, leaving a room or walking away from another character to end a scene, change it. Make them face the conflict head on, it creates much more drama, and conflict fuels your story.

Write Hard!

TIP OF THE DAY

The concept that you choose for your screenplay is very important, but once you begin to write that story, don't forget that WHO it is about is more important than WHAT it is about.

Write Hard!

10/25/2021

TIP OF THE DAY

IF OUT LOUD IT SOUNDS WRITTEN, REWRITE IT. In scripts especially, if it sounds like you have written it, then it doesn't feel like the character is speaking, is real, that their world is real, that they are authentic, specific, etc.

Write Hard!

TIP OF THE DAY

If you aren't reading scripts to learn, then you are missing out on the greatest tool out there. Read. Study. Create.

How to Pitch a Movie Idea and Sell Your Script With Style | Script Reader Pro

Learning how to pitch a script can be very nerve-wracking for many writers. It takes confidence and charm, but there’s also a strategy that can be learned.

In our latest video, we’ve created a step-by-step guide on how to pitch a movie idea and sell your script with style.

Here’s what’s coming up:
• Types of film pitches (elevator vs. extended).
• What happens in a pitch meeting (general vs. specific).
• How to write a pitch for a movie (do’s and don’ts).
• How to sell a movie idea (hint: prepare and practice!).
• Following up on film pitch / meeting.
• Real-life screenplay pitch examples.

Over to You:
• Ask yourself: is my screenplay “ready” to be pitched?
• Remember: it’s a two-way conversation, not a speech!
• How many film pitches have you given? How did they go?
• Rejection is a part of the process. Stay inspired and keep writing.
• What do you think of our methods outlined in this video?

I can't wait to watch the next "Ask a Professional Screenwriter " Q&A. Is it scheduled for June? Script Reader Pro
My friend has a story that would be a fun film. How does she find a script writer? 📝
Yesterday I got my script polish back from Script Reader Pro. I chose SCP because of the ratings and some assessment of my script. Since this is my first script I am really putting out there, I wanted to be polished and any changes I would use as lessons for the next scripts in my queue. All I can say is I am amazed. Not only was the worked completed faster than estimated, the scripted was tightened and improved dramatically without altering the overall plot. I can highly recommend their services and they went above and beyond working with me and my script. Easily 5 Stars. TA Shaw, Dude At Casi Cielo Productions
BLOWN AWAY by your course. (Just finished, twice.) THANK YOU!
We should get our final script back today from polish! So exciting! ...⏰ Just reading the polished script! Over the top amazing! We’ve been working on this for years and we have finally nailed it with this polish! Thank you so much!
I love Script Reader Pro so far. I was interested in the Mentorship Program, but it's fairly steep at $799. Does anyone have any experience with the Screenwriting Mentorship?
Inspired after my experience with SCRIPT READER PRO. Excellent coverage. Unbelievable attention to details. The notes literally marked “a before and after” for me. I honestly recommend it anyone.
I recently received my script coverage by Script Reader Pro. The coverage, observations and advice was first class and well received. They pointed out details, strengths and weaknesses in my script that need attention and suggested the types of changes needed. I am about to start a re-write based on the feedback. Thanks. I am sure this service will help to develop and hone my skills as a screenwriter.
Of all the myriad screenwriting services/coverage/feedback companies I have used, Script Reader Pro is, by far, the best. The feedback is clear and actionable, but, more impressively, the readers often offer suggestions on potential fixes. They can, because they are writers themselves. All of the scripts they've reviewed are far better now as a result of their input/feedback/suggestions. I highly recommend them to anyone trying to take their screenwriting to the next level.
I had the greatest experience of my professional career thanks to Script Reader Pro. They are the consummate professionals and will exceed your expectations. Do yourself a favor and save them as a favorite and rest assure, that they will get the job done effectively and efficiently. I will be a commited returning client of theirs.
Another great and constructive report on my script. thanks guys!
