I remember my mom laying in bed with me while I cried over the ache of first loves. and she held me and said she wished i could see what she saw. a beautiful life ahead. so much life ahead.

fourteen years later on my husbands high school campus I was reminded of that. high school us could have never dreamed this up 🥹

maybe not the answer you thought it would be but it’s where I’ve landed 🤠

if they ARE asking —

I love to send them a link for a type of toy my kids already have and love — a new Lego set, another play animal, restock of art supplies etc

OR

I suggest a bigger item for all the kids — think trampoline or gymnastics bar or play couch

OR

Ive heard of people asking for a membership! to the zoo or museum etc!

basically, I want to preserve the heart and fun of gifting while also being sure to communicate boundaries (the amount)

and then from there it’s —
accept gratefully, purge later 🤠🤠🤠
