Before sunrise on June 13, skywatchers who rise early will be treated to a beautiful celestial pairing. A delicate 5% illuminated waning crescent Moon will appear near the famous Pleiades star cluster, shining softly in the eastern sky just before dawn.

Unlike a bright full Moon, this thin crescent won't overpower the stars, allowing the sparkling Pleiades—often called "The Seven Sisters"—to remain clearly visible beside it. ✨

To the naked eye, the cluster looks like a small gathering of bright blue-white stars. Through binoculars, dozens more stars come into view. Astronomers have even discovered that thousands of stars scattered across our galaxy may have originated from the same stellar family as the Pleiades.
