6’9” in America comes with its challenges… apparently surgical tables are one of them 😂

Just had my sinus surgery, and once again we had to figure out how to fit these legs on the table! 😂

But jokes aside, I’m genuinely grateful to be in a country where I can get the care I need — and especially grateful that my Blue Shield insurance is taking care of me through all of this. 🇺🇸❤️

One surgery down… and one very important one still ahead. 👀

I learned something today… A DEXA scan may produce a false T-score when performed as a standalone, on or around metal implants in the spine.

My surgeon will use a Hip DEXA and a Non-Contrast Spine CT (The Hounsfield method) together to calculate a precise bone quality score for ADR.

Today I had my first ever therapy session.

Honestly, I went into it thinking I was just there to check a box required by my insurance before surgery. But I walked away realizing I actually learned a lot about myself — and I found the whole experience surprisingly useful.

I just want to say that to anyone who is afraid of back surgery/fusion…I was able to leave the hospital on the same day...

I just want to say that to anyone who is afraid of back surgery/fusion…

I was able to leave the hospital on the same day, L5-S1 (ALIF) It worked. However, I refused the L4-5 procedure that I am now being told I need. I took a conservative approach. But time is something that we don’t get back and life is in motion!

Find the best doctor and trust the science. We can’t always know how things are gonna turn out, but sometimes the doctors DO actually know what they’re talking about.

Originally advised to have a hybrid surgery (L5-S1 ALIF, L4-5 ADR) old gym injuries. I chose the L5-S1 and NOT the ADR. I had some concerning times with the L5-S1 fusion and consulted ALL THESE SURGEONS for it. But inevitably, It all comes back to the original plan.
