My brother Frank had this albino raccoon and her kit running around his yard last summer. Notice how she likes to keep the kit basically underneath her, most likely to keep it from getting picked off by avian predators. And then she eventually gets frustrated and just picks it up and carries it.

My wife arranged a family visit to Sicily, where my great grandparents came from. My brief bit of research suggests that Rinella is a “habitational name” referring to where a person came from. (Something similar happens to Vito Corleone in “The Godfather.” When he gets to America, he’s given that name because he’s Vito from the town of Corleone.) We only went to one of two villages named Rinella. I saw some junked out boats and discarded fishing gear and figured it’s gotta be the right one.
