“I’m usually trying to noodle on a problem we have. All you’re doing is breathing. So you’re listening to your breath. There’s nothing else that allows me to kind of clear my head or focus my mental energy on one particular problem, whether that was health care, whether that was something on education, when I was mayor, whatever it was.”
When we listen to ourselves, we go places.
When we listen to each other, we go places.
We started United States of Sweat to have conversations with political leaders and policymakers that explore how the sports and physical activities we love make us stronger and might unite us during a divided time.
We enter these conversations with an open mind and the possibility that we might come to know these familiar figures and their stories in a new light.
It’s about listening and seeing where the conversation takes us.
When we listen, we open the door to knowing ourselves and each other in a new light.
When we listen, we go places.
As a country, as a people, as world.
