Julius Erving and Elvin Hayes.
It didn’t matter how big or strong a defender was. When it came to taking the ball to the hoop, the Doctor always did it with authority.

Dr. J was a high-flying, elite scorer and influential player who could create his own shot and finish in transition.

He had exceptional athleticism.

He was a revolutionary, acrobatic, high-flying player known for gravity-defying dunks, pioneering above-the-rim play, and a unique blend of power, grace, and artistry that transformed basketball's popularity and set the stage for stars like Jordan and Dominique.

His athleticism wasn't just about jumping but also his smooth gliding, mid-air body control, and overall dynamic, creative style that captivated audiences.

He possessed an almost magical ability to glide and hang in the air, appearing to defy gravity, especially in his prime in the ABA.

Dr. J was THE ORIGINAL AERIAL ARTIST.

Virginia Squires rookie Julius Erving chats with Willie Sojourner on September 12, 1971, during training camp.
Erving, who played with Virginia from 1971-73, quickly established himself as a force in the ABA and gained a reputation for hard and ruthless dunking. He scored 27.3 points per game as a rookie, was selected to the All-ABA Second Team, made the ABA All-Rookie Team, led the ABA in offensive rebounds, and finished second to Artis Gilmore for the ABA Rookie of the Year Award. He led the Squires into the Eastern Division Finals, where they lost to the Rick Barry-led New York Nets in seven games. The Nets would eventually go to the finals, losing to the star-studded Indiana Pacers team.

I feel the reason people talk bad about Wilt Chamberlain is because they only know about Laker Wilt.

1969-1973 during the end of his career.

Philadelphia Wilt from 1960-1968 was the most dominant force basketball has ever seen.

Imagine talking MJ and just talking his wizards days.
Imagine talking Shaq and just talking about his Celtics days.

Maybe because it was 60+ years ago and people don't care. The fact is I'd take 23 Wilt Chamberlain over any player who has ever touched a basketball.

60+ years and no one has ever came close to what he did!!!

In 100 years no one would come close to what he did on the court!!!!!

He was way before my time I never saw him play, but I've done my research and I'm a historian of NBA basketball, and I know yes the greatest ever!!!!!!
