Oh Mannequin is deeply saddened by the passing of the incredible Dolly Parton - The one and only 💖 We are honored to creat this fun window display for World of Wonder so many years back James Clark curated an art show at the WOW street front gallery called Dolly Pop and we created this installation for the opening of the show. We called the installation “Dollywood to Hollywood”. It started at the entrance of the gallery, with a small but structurally important beam/ glass case decorated with images of Dolly floating above and around children’s heads and books wrapped in bows and butterfly’s. This part of the installation was dedicated to her imagination library. As you walked farther in the glass entrance you were greeted on the left with a mirror having a faceless cut out of Dolly’s hair, so you could step up to the mirror and see your self as Dolly. Behind her were two farmers, pitch fork and all. Referencing her humble beginnings. With the walls lined with records of her early career. To your right you saw Dollys closet, with wig, nails outfits complete with accessories including her cup of ambition. We had to have that mannequin modified to attain the oh so famous b***s. As you began to exit the glass hallway facing Hollywood blvd and the Hollywood Walk Of Fame you see an unpublished image from 1987 of Dolly hilariously flipping the bird. The image is flanked by two “Oscar” statues and the sheet music of the two songs she was nominated for, but sadly was not awarded. Finally at the face of the gallery promptly facing Hollywood blvd were a hand made set of papermache b***s proudly displayed for passerby to behold. We love you Dolly. Your impact will forever be felt. Your music forever played and you will@always be in our hearts. 💖
