Our almost two year old unaltered boy has been a horn dog hu***ng machine the past few days. He has gone through brief phases of this before, but this time it’s more frequent. We have an 8 year old spayed female goldendoodle who is getting very annoyed with his constant attention. We’ve been intervening when we can and redirecting him. Will this too pass?

Someone please inform me of what I’m doing wrong. I have 2 vizslas that are 10 months old. They are best friends no signs of littermate syndrome and they were doing great with training and pretty much potty trained them selves. Over the last 2 months they have been horrible. They are back to going potty in their crate ALL THE TIME and I let them out every 2 hours. They come back inside and decide to go again inside almost every time. They are completely ignoring their recall now so we are back to leashed walks. They get plenty of exercise and enrichment has anyone else run into this? Am I feeding them too much? Please tell me it’s a phase!!!

Has anyone dealt with hypothyroidism in their Vizsla?
Our 2-year-old boy was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism and we’d love to hear from others who have been through this! 🐾

We have two Vizslas — our 2-year-old is 65 lbs and our 4.5-year-old is 47 lbs. Over the last 6 months we really started noticing a significant difference between the two. They eat the same food, get the same exercise, same lifestyle — yet there’s nearly a 20 lb difference between them. That gap is what pushed us to get him tested, and sure enough, hypothyroidism.

We started medication last week and he’s also on a calorie deficit diet for now.

We’d love to hear from anyone who has been through this with their Vizsla or any dog:

∙ How long did it take before you started noticing changes after starting medication?

∙ What differences did you see first — weight, energy, coat, mood?

∙ Any tips or things you wish you’d known going in?
