When my son wanted to put an American flag on his truck, I’ll admit… I was a little hesitant.

Not because I don’t love this country, but because these days it sometimes feels like something as simple as flying an American flag could make your vehicle a target. That thought alone is kind of sad.

But today reminded me that there are still a lot of people who quietly love this country too.

On the way to the car show, we lost count of the honks, smiles, waves, and thumbs-up from complete strangers. And once we got there, we realized we definitely weren’t the only ones proudly flying the flag.

It was a good reminder that what we see online isn’t always what we see in real life. There are still plenty of Americans who love their country, respect the flag, and appreciate seeing it displayed with pride.

Today gave me a little more hope. 🇺🇸

It never gets old… 🥚🐔

I went out to feed the chickens today and came back in with a half dozen fresh eggs. It’s one of those simple things that still makes me smile every single time.

Once my new girls start laying, I think I’m going to have more eggs than we can eat. 😂 Looks like I’ll be selling eggs again, so stay tuned!

Fresh eggs… fresh sourdough… I might just have a little roadside side hustle in my future.

Facebook memories are funny sometimes.

This picture popped up from 2011. Looking at it, I see a woman who looked happy, completely unaware that just a few months later her entire world was about be devastated.

Back then, I thought I knew what my future looked like. Fovever Marriage. Raising our kids together. Growing old with the life we had built. I also believed that if “I” just loved hard enough and “I” just fought hard enough, “I” could hold everything together.

Life had other plans.

What I couldn’t see in this picture was that some chapters end no matter how hard “you” try. And sometimes the things you lose make room for the person you’re meant to become.

It wasn’t an easy road with a broken heart. There were tears, fear, setbacks, and a lot of rebuilding. But there was also strength I didn’t know I had, friendships I never expected, and a life I eventually learned to be grateful for.

Looking back now, I don’t feel sadness for the woman in this photo. I feel compassion. She had no idea what was coming, but she also had no idea how resilient she would become.

Today remember : Sometimes our lives don’t fall apart—they fall into a different story than the one we planned and that is okay !

And I’m proud of the woman who kept going. 🫶🏽 Is life perfect …. Absolutely not … but im here still thriving !

I don’t post my workouts very often, but the truth is… I work out most days. Even if it’s only 20–30 minutes, I make it happen.

For a long time now I avoided cardio because of my hip. Running has always been my favorite go to, and not being able to do it was frustrating. I finally bought an indoor cycle bike, and let me tell you… it gets my heart rate up and absolutely kicks my butt. 😂

Here’s why I keep showing up anyway…

When I work out, I don’t need coffee. I have more energy, my mind is clearer, I stop dwelling on the things I can’t control, and I’m so much more productive throughout the day.

When I don’t work out? I feel sluggish, unmotivated, and it’s way easier for my mind to wander into places that don’t serve me.

This isn’t always my eventual of lookin good naked. It’s also about taking care of the only one I’ve got.

If you’ve fallen out of the habit, start small. Five minutes. A walk around the block. A YouTube workout. One gym visit a week. Build the routine before you worry about intensity.

And if you’re someone who thrives on accountability like I do, find your people. Some of my favorite friendships came from the gym, and seeing others push themselves always inspires me to push a little harder too.

We’re not getting any younger… but we can absolutely get stronger.

Trust me your future self will thank you. ☺️

My kid decided to make black sesame seed cookies today, and I have to admit—they turned out pretty amazing!

Black sesame seeds may be tiny, but they’re packed with nutrients like calcium, iron, healthy fats, and antioxidants. While they’re still a treat, they add a little nutritional boost compared to your average cookie.

Nothing better than watching your kids learn their way around the kitchen and create something delicious from scratch.

Self-care weekend ✨

A little extra rest, a little sunshine, good food, and a reminder that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish …. it’s necessary.

Feeling recharged and ready for the week ahead. The to do list is calling 🫣

Looking for some advice and personal experiences.

I recently found out that I have degenerative arthritis in my right hip, and my doctor says I’m basically bone-on-bone. After spending a lot of time trying to manage it with weight loss and other pain relief measures, I’ve come to the difficult decision to move forward with a hip replacement.

So far, I’ve been told that the anterior approach may offer a faster recovery and fewer restrictions after surgery. Attached is pucture of what it will look like ….

I’m wondering if anyone here has had or know someone thats had an anterior hip replacement?

How was your recovery?
Are you happy with the results?
Is there anything you wish you had known beforehand?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences!

I'm terrified of making this decision, but I also know that moving forward with surgery will likely help improve my quality of life and reduce the pain I've been living with.

One thing I’ve really loved this year is learning how to make more of my own food. Every time I try something new, I end up wondering why I didn’t start doing it sooner!

The newest thing I’ve added to my little cookbook is homemade Alfredo sauce, and wow… I had no idea it was that easy to make. Just a few simple ingredients, no preservatives, and it tastes SO much better than anything I’ve ever bought in a jar.

I’ve been having a lot of fun finding ways to eat a little cleaner and get more protein in without feeling like I’m giving up foods I enjoy. Tonight was homemade Alfredo over protein noodles with a ton of chopped rotisserie chicken mixed in. Super simple, packed with protein, and honestly delicious.

It’s funny how something as simple as learning to cook a few things from scratch can completely change the way you look at food. I’m definitely enjoying the process and learning as I go!

She’s growing so fast already—almost completely feathered out now, and her beautiful red feathers are starting to really come in. Every day she looks a little more like a real “grown hen,” and it’s wild watching her change so quickly.

What I didn’t expect was how much she’s bonded with me. She follows me around, calms down when I pick her up, and acts like I’m her person.

It’s actually the sweetest thing… I go out there thinking I’m just checking on her, and somehow I end up sitting with her way longer than I planned.

Life is good… especially when you make time to get outside and reconnect with nature. 🌿

Went on a little 2 hour hike today and saw all my favorite things — trees, flowers, flowing water, horses, chickens, lizards, goats, and bunnies.

It’s amazing how the simple things can make you feel so grounded again.

There’s just something healing about getting out into fresh air, moving your body, hearing water flow, and putting your phone away for a while ( well except to take picture of course ) .

Nature has a way of slowing your mind down and reminding you to appreciate the little things.

Honestly… grab a friend and go. Some of the best conversations happen on a trail, away from distractions and everyday stress.

Good company, sunshine, fresh air, and a little adventure 🥰
