Matchbook Romance’s “Stories and Alibis” was released on September 23 in 2003 on Epitaph Records. This album introduced listeners to their unique blend of emo and pop-punk, quickly becoming a staple for so many. From the powerful melodies to the raw, honest lyrics, it’s an album that still holds up and transports us back in time. Severely underrated album imo, not nearly mentioned enough these days.

the pilot episode of LOST aired 21 years ago today, on September 22, 2004, and was a turning point for television. Some of the things that became common tropes in tv series were storytelling devices coined by this show itself, and remains one of my favorite shows of all time. here’s a genre adjacent meme dump to commemorate the show’s anniversary.

“Let It Enfold You”, the debut studio album by Senses Fail, released on September 7, 2004, through Vagrant Records. I can remember when the unmastered leak of this album dropped on absolute punk . net back in the day, and then hearing the difference in the final when I finally bought the CD for myself. I was super excited to see one of my favorite Drive Thru Records bands blow up when this record finally came out.

I would love to have Buddy Nielsen on the show to chat about Senses Fail.

Plans was released August 30, 2005. I can vividly recall the day I got this CD. It was shortly after Katrina had hit, and the weather was still bad here. I sat on my couch with all the lights off and listened to the album front to back with the rain falling in the background, and it’s such a poignant memory that I have to where this album still evokes a strong visceral reaction from me.

One of my top 5 albums of all time.
Happy 20th anniversary to an absolute masterpiece.

I fully intend to get Benjamin Gibbard on the show to chat about this record.
