If you’ve spotted a handsome pup out and about, you’ve probably met Sigmund Frederick—aka Siggy. 🐾

Our May cover star is often seen with his parents, John and Sue, making his neighborhood rounds as part greeter, part observer, and just slightly in charge of the vibe.

Adopted in 2023 from Young-Williams Animal Center, Siggy is a “pure bred mutt” with a love for car rides, dog friends (he’s a certified “Play Monitor” at daycare), and keeping a very close eye on the pretzel bowl during cocktail hour. 🥨

Friendly, curious, and always up for a walk, Siggy has a way of turning quick hellos into real conversations.

Say hi when you see him—you might just make his favorites list.

The 54th Annual Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is back!
📅 April 25–26, 2026
🕙 10 AM – 6 PM (both days)

Stroll Cherokee Parkway and discover incredible work from 200+ artists and craftspeople — from painters and jewelers to photographers, sculptors, and more. 🌿

But it’s more than an art fair — it’s a full weekend experience:
🎉 Children’s Parade (Saturday at 9 AM — costumes encouraged!)
🎨 Kids Craft Tent + playground fun
🌱 Neighborhood Plant Booth
🍺 Beer, brats & BBQ favorites
🍷 Wine Café at the Circle
🎶 Live music all weekend at the gazebo

But last summer, their sense of adventure took them far beyond Louisville… to medieval castles, hidden villages, and vineyard-covered hills in eastern France. Think private wine tastings in Beaujolais, fresh Comté cheese in Jura, and unforgettable meals crafted by a future Michelin-star chef. 🍷🧀

Her takeaway? Sometimes the best destinations are the ones no one’s talking about (yet).

FAVORITE PETS FEATURE:
Meet Paul… the turtle who’s been keeping things chill for over 15 years. 🐢✨

Adopted from Feeder’s Supply for an 11th birthday surprise, this red-eared slider quickly became a forever family member (and a lesson in long-term commitment — turtles can live 40+ years!).

By day, Paul is all about the vibes — stretched out in a full-on yoga pose under the heat lamp. By night, you’ll find this cozy reptile tucked under a favorite rock, just the tiniest nose poking out of the water. 💤

Fun twist? Paul is actually a female… but hey, Paul is still Paul. 😉

Equal parts low-key, quirky, and lovable, Paul proves that the most unexpected pets can make the biggest impact.

✈️ Neighbor Travel Spotlight ✈️ FRANCE!!

Highlands residents for 10 years, this Ransdell couple (and their three rescue cats 🐾) love strolling the Triangle and admiring its architecture and gardens 🌿🏡.

Last August, they ventured to east-central France 🇫🇷 — exploring the Jura, Burgundy, and Beaujolais regions. From staying in medieval castles (complete with a moat and drawbridge!) to wandering hilltop villages, touring châteaux, and watching traditional Comté cheese being made 🧀, the trip was full of charm and history.

They tasted vin jaune, sampled local cheeses, and enjoyed unforgettable private wine tastings in Beaujolais cellars 🍷 — even being treated to a private chef’s dinner their final night.

Their favorite part? Connecting with welcoming locals and discovering off-the-beaten-path towns that felt like their own little secret. 💛
