Dear Dawson Springs Schools family,

SCHOOLS WILL RELEASE AT 11:30 AM THIS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2026.

As a follow-up to information shared over the weekend, our schools will release and buses will run at 11:30 a.m. this Wednesday, January 7, 2026. All students will be served lunch prior to dismissal.

This early dismissal ensures that our students and staff members may attend the funeral of our high school student, Aden McKinney.

The services for Aden will be at the Beshear Funeral Home here in Dawson Springs and are as follows:

* Visitation - 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026
* Continued visitation - 9 a.m. to the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026

We continue to extend our heartfelt condolences to Aden's family, friends, classmates, and all who are grieving. We'll continue to treasure our memories of Aden, forever a Panther.

It is with overwhelming sadness that our district shares the loss of one of the members of our junior class: Aden McKinney. Aden passed early this morning following injuries sustained in a hunting accident.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Aden's family, friends, classmates, and all who are grieving. Counselors and support staff will be available for students and faculty on Monday and as needed as we navigate this difficult loss together.
