Good Morning, Words of Relevance, and GHCI
A New Beginning
Except the Lord build a house, they labour in vain that build it. Psalm 127:1 KJV
Starting in ministry at a new church is both a holy privilege and a great responsibility. When the pastor and his wife come forth to the new congregation, they do so not merely as leaders but as servants of the Most High God. Entrusted with shepherding the people of God. Except the Lord build a house, they labour in vain that build it. Psalms 127:KJV. With that being stated, every pastor and their wife must spend countless hours in prayer, obedience to God and faith that God's divine purpose will be fulfilled.
The Calling from God
The calling of a pastor is not a self-appointment but a God appointment and ordained calling. Paul writes Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God Acts 20:28 KJV.
As a pastor given by God to a new congregation, his duties are to preach the word of God in season and out of season when the congregation wants to hear it and when they don't want to hear it. He must also guide the souls of men, women, boys and girls; he must remain humble and lead with Godly wisdom.
The role of the Pastor's Wife
As the pastor's wife, she must minister to the people with kindness, hospitality, and encourage the people through prayer and calm strength. The book of Titus reminds us to live reverently and to be instructors of good things, loving and to exhibit spiritual maturity in the body of Christ.
Partners in Ministry
Together, the Pastor and his wife show unity in ministry to carry out God's vision for the church. Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. The unity of the Pastor and his wife will give the church strength in leadership and provide a stable foundation in the church. Let all things be done with charity, 1 Corinthians 16, 14 beginning in the home and extending into the church.
Believing God for the Vision
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to your own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy path. Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV. In the book of Jeremiah, we find these words For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you and expected end. When the church begins a new book with a new pastor, the book is filled with purpose, growth and spiritual fruit.
Final
The pastor and his wife embark on a new journey filled with faith, service and love. On the foundation of the Holy Bible and rooted and grounded in the Holy Spirit, driven to lead and guide, to serve and love the people. Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Amen
