The Complete Second Verse

Ok, I’m excited and more than a little proud. I probably eat too much, I’ve gotten angry on occasion, but right now I’m consumed by achievement. The point I’m making is I’m probably 50-50 on the seven deadly sins, aka a real human being. I’m a better person today than I’ve ever been, but it has been a long hard journey. Because I’m me, I documented it in poetry.

This coming Tuesday, 31 January, 2020 you can own your very own copy of The Complete Second Verse. You can buy it at any store that sells books! The Complete Second Verse

Dr. Charles Cooper documents his life in verse, precise poetry, which flows at times with brutal honesty, basks in tender moments, and frames the man in his own determination. This modern day renaissance man, who was called the Jefferson of his day by King's College London professors, offers work...

Due to the implications of Assembly Bill 5, a new law limiting the ability of a company to contract with writers without forming an employee relationship, Elizabeth River Press will not be able to publish the work of authors who are from California. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Corporately we are doing our best to inform people that the release of the Idealist is delayed until 7 Jan. We have informed all of the vendors, however in this very automated world, some websites may still allow the purchase for an unknown period. Any purchase made prior to the release date will contain errors which is less than representative of the Author’s desired product. Please be patient. Elizabeth River Press will make every effort to correct any purchase already made. All purchases should be made after 7 January.

Thank You,

Charles Cooper, President,

Due to an unforeseen error, a proof draft of my book, The Idealist, was used in the creation of the book’s text template instead of the final draft. In order to provide you the final finished manuscript, we are asking that you do not purchase what is currently listed on Amazon and wait until our revised release date, which will be announced in the near future. We are attempting to temporarily pull it off of Amazon, but may need to wait until Monday to contact them regarding the issue. We apologize for the confusion, and hope to correct it very soon.
If you have purchased the book prior to this post on December 15th, please message me (Terry Conrad) on Facebook as soon as possible.

Submissions are open!

Charles Cooper keeps telling me not to be apologetic. Not because he's unkind but rather because I feel like the past few months have been excuse after excuse for me.

So, I'm still going to start off with I'm sorry. I'm sorry I haven't been here. We had this incredible dream to launch this thing, and I waited until I was ready.

September 15th brought a whole new challenge to my world, and it's been a focus of many facets in my life since. Charles and I have had a few heart to heart conversations, and we decided to drop ALL submission fees.

We will be reviewing all submissions (that's not new), and all submissions will still go through my website linked below. 👇

If you submitted and we have not reached out to you, please feel free to PM us here.

We are GO FOR LAUNCH.
I can't apologize for taking care of the things that needed attention right away, but I can apologize for not meeting my own goals in getting our message out to the right people these past two months.

Our vision still holds true. We are launching an anthology for Spring 2020, and we WANT YOU IN IT! 💙

We still expect fabulous stories of Flash Fiction, Short Story Format, and if formatting correctly, I would like to open it up to short scripts as well.
We are also open to digital artwork as well.

We are still meeting our Spring deadline, but because I am the reason we came to a halt, we're extending our submissions to January 31, 2020.

I will be away until the second week of December, but I hope to come back with an inbox filled with great reading. Everyone will hear from us.

If you have submitted and we haven't reached out to you yet, please PM us here.

Our submission page remains the same and can be found here. 👇

Peace, love, and beautiful worlds of writing.
Thank you for allowing me to be humble.

Publishers since 2007

The Elizabeth River Press was founded by Charles Cooper in 2007 as a reaction to large impersonal publishing experiences. Since that time this small press has acted as the publisher for 3 authors on 19 separate books. Topics we have published include poetry, fiction, science fiction, and business related non-fiction.
