Let’s talk, sis.

We love on everybody.
We show up for everybody.
We carry babies on our hips, businesses in our brains, jobs on our backs, and secrets in our hearts.

But who holds you?

Mental health isn’t weakness.
Needing help doesn’t mean you’re broken — it means you’ve been strong for too long without a break.
Therapy isn’t a betrayal of your faith.
Prayer is powerful — and so is treatment.

You can speak in tongues and set boundaries.
You can anoint your head with oil and take your meds on time.

Whether you’re a single mom or married with a full house — the pressure is real.
Motherhood is sacred, but whew... it’s exhausting.
Being a friend, a daughter, a boss, or an employee — it’s a lot.
And we’re doing all of this while trying to heal childhood wounds, look good on the outside, and not fall apart on the inside.

💭 You deserve joy. You deserve peace. You deserve support.

If nobody has told you lately:
You are seen.
You are worthy of rest.
You are allowed to ask for help.
You are not less of a woman for needing therapy, medication, or a moment to breathe.

Let’s end the stigma. Let’s break the silence.
Being a Black woman is powerful — and it’s okay to not be okay.

👑 Today, we crush on the Black woman who chooses herself.
Even if just for a moment.
Especially if she never has before.

Tag a Black woman you love.
Let her know it’s okay to sit down, log off, cry, heal, rest, and rise again.

🧠💅🏾 Mamas of Teens: Your Mental Health Ain’t Optional.

Whewwww… parenting teens will have you questioning your sanity, salvation, and whether you should’ve just adopted a cat instead. 😩

One minute they need you for everything.
Next minute, they mad you breathing too loud. 😒
You trying to raise a whole human, and they out here acting like you ruining their life by asking if they ate today.

But listen, sis…

✨ You are still a whole woman—not just somebody’s mama.
✨ You are allowed to take a nap, take a walk, or take a damn break.
✨ You can go to therapy before you snap, not after.

Let’s be real:
The group chat knows you stressed.
Jesus knows you tired.
And Target knows your face.

So today, give yourself permission to rest, to vent, to not have all the answers.
And if the attitude gets too loud—go in your room and lock the door like they do.

We’re parenting teens, not losing ourselves. Period.

Drop a 💆🏾‍♀️ if your teen got on your nerves before noon today.
Tag a mama who deserves a soft life and a solo trip to Starbucks.

💜 This weekend, We Pause to Honor the Kings. 💜

On this women’s empowerment page, we uplift the strength of women —
but we pause for a spell, to celebrate the men who cover us, support us, and lead beside us.

To the fathers…
To the uncles, grandfathers, bonus dads, brothers, husbands, and spiritual fathers —
Thank you.

Thank you for being:
👑 Supportive shoulders to lean on
👑 Faithful protectors and powerful providers
👑 Gentle teachers and effective leaders
👑 Men of prayer who go into spiritual warfare with us and for us
👑 Safe spaces when the world feels too loud

You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to be appreciated.

We see you. We honor you. We need you.

Happy Father’s Day from
The Journey With Trish Light Squad

Indeed, it's Mental Health Awareness Month, but the reality is that we need to prioritize mental health every day. The current state of mental health is alarming, with widespread economic struggles, deteriorating relationships, low self-esteem, and a rising number of young people losing their friends. We're witnessing an unacceptable rate of youth fatalities. Violence is escalating in our communities, and in some cities, churches are overflowing while others are empty. Social media platforms are being used to promote self-harm. Many individuals attribute these issues to spiritual forces or the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, signaling the end times. While that may be a valid perspective, it's crucial to acknowledge that the world has not yet ended. People are struggling with emotional pain, broken spirits, and hurtful experiences. It's essential for parents to engage with their children, spouses to support each other, and friends to check in regularly. Religious leaders must also prioritize their congregants' well-being by sending targeted messages emphasizing the importance of mental health maintenance. The truth is, many people are not okay. Better days are coming 💚
