🚨 BREAKING: Lindsay Clancy’s attorney has requested a mistrial after a prosecution expert made comments about Clancy’s Catholic faith during testimony.

Forensic psychologist Kirk Heilbrun discussed statements Clancy made about herself and her children “going to God” and also testified that he asked her whether su***de was considered a “mortal sin.”

Clancy’s attorney argued the religious comments were inappropriate. Judge William Sullivan denied the mistrial request but instructed jurors to completely disregard the testimony about Clancy’s religion.

“The religion that the defendant was raised with is absolutely an inappropriate area of testimony,” Sullivan told jurors, ordering the comments stricken from the record.

The testimony came as prosecutors presented rebuttal experts in Clancy’s murder trial. Heilbrun testified that he believes Clancy had bipolar disorder and was experiencing anxiety, depression, insomnia and suicidal thoughts in the weeks before the January 2023 deaths of her three children.

The defense maintains Clancy suffered from postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible. Prosecutors argue the killings were planned.

Closing arguments are expected later this week.

Man faces $250k bond after stalking, harassing Lubbock Sheriff's Office deputy

LUBBOCK, Texas — William Robinson, 39, was arrested Friday, August 7th and charged with stalking and harassment after allegedly targeting a Lubbock County Sheriff's Office deputy and his family following a previous arrest.

According to an affidavit, a Lubbock County Sheriff's Office deputy arrested Robinson for a traffic violation on July 21, 2026.

During that traffic stop, the victim — who is also an LSO Deputy — assisted.

Court documents state that during the stop, Robinson's mother drove to the scene and was also arrested by the victim deputy for Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest and Interference with Public Duties.

Authorities spoke to the victim in August 2026. Court documents indicate that on July 23, two days after the initial incident, Robinson approached the victim while he was off-duty in a county-issued vehicle in the parking lot of the 5000 block of West Loop. Robinson called the victim by his last name and referenced his prior military service.

According to court documents, Robinson stated, “You want to hurt my family, well f* you, f your wife and f*** your kids.” The victim told authorities he left the area to de-escalate the situation.
The victim also informed authorities that his father received a text message from an unknown number. The message referenced personal information about the victim, including details about his military service, the number of years he served and topics related to his family. Additional messages referenced the July 21st arrest and made multiple allegations towards the victim and the arresting officer.

Court records also indicate a text was sent stating, “Have a talk with him if this is your son,” along with a partially n**e photo of a person with visible bruises and scrapes.
Authorities reviewed public databases for the phone number used and found it was associated with Robinson. Records show Robinson has a history of multiple violence and interference charges, with a total of ten arrests in Texas, including a conviction for aggravated assault causing bodily injury after a stabbing at a South Lubbock apartment complex in 2018.

An arrest warrant was executed by LCSO on August 6th, and the Department of Public Safety subsequently arrested Robinson the following day in the 3700 block of 47th Street. He is now in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

Lubbock Driver Charged With DWI After Pedestrian Dies in Crash

The Lubbock Police Department's Major Crash Unit is investigating a crash in the 6500 block of University Avenue late Sunday night that resulted in the death of a 40-year-old woman.

Officers were called to the scene at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a crash with injuries involving a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as Crystal Vela. She was transported by EMS to UMC with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the involved vehicle was later identified as Brian Rodriguez. He has been arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

Officials state that the information currently available to investigators does not support any additional or enhanced charges related to the death. Charges may be amended or added if new information arises.

Garza County Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Child Sexual Abuse
A Garza County man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of s*xually abusing a child.
Mark Anthony Porter began assaulting the victim when she was 8 years old. The abuse lasted for more than seven years.
A jury deliberated for 45 minutes before finding Porter guilty and sentenced him to the maximum sentence of life in prison.

Lubbock man accused of punching bartender at Miami's Hard Rock Cafe leaving her with concussion and broken tooth

A 47-year-old Lubbock man has been charged with felony battery after an alleged assault at a Hard Rock Cafe in Miami’s Bayside Marketplace.

Police identified the suspect as Daniel Ramirez. Investigators allege the incident happened on Sunday, July 26, after an employee asked Ramirez to stop picking through drink garnishes. Authorities say surveillance video shows Ramirez pushing a bartender to the ground during the confrontation.

The victim, identified as 21-year-old Nicky, reportedly suffered a broken front tooth, a bruised lip, and a concussion after she followed the suspect and was allegedly struck in the mouth with a closed fist.

According to Miami Police, Ramirez was located on the evening of Friday, July 31, by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers while boarding a ship at the Port of Miami. He was taken into custody and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he is awaiting a court hearing.

The victim has said she continues to experience daily headaches, shoulder pain, anxiety, and lingering effects from the concussion.

Westley Russell, 31, was indicted by a Lubbock Grand Jury on Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault against a public servant in connection with an officer-involved shooting.
The incident occurred in May 2026. Lubbock authorities responded to the 3400 block of 38th Street for a call involving a person needing to retrieve property after ending a domestic relationship with Russell.
Officers arrived on scene to meet with the involved party and her brother. According to court documents, after they entered the residence, Russell grabbed a nearby handgun and pointed it at the responding officer and the involved parties. The officer then fired his weapon at Russell, injuring him.
Russell is currently in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

LUBBOCK, Texas — Anthony Garza, 37, pleaded guilty to three felony counts of Possession of Child Po*******hy on Thursday following an incident from 2021.
According to court documents, Garza was the subject of a Cybertip received by the Lubbock Police Department in May 2021. The tip was investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Squad, which discovered a user had used Dropbox to upload and possess child po*******hy. The IP address associated with the Dropbox activity was tied back to Garza, who was later arrested on July 20, 2024 by the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office.
Garza faced nine counts of Possession of Child Po*******hy, which is a third-degree felony. After his plea, six counts were dismissed. Garza will face a seven-year sentence for each of the three remaining counts, to be served at TDCJ and run concurrently. He must also register as a s*x offender once his sentence is completed
