A fresh coat of gold for a hometown treasure. ๐โจ
The iconic Big Red Apple in Cornelia is shining a little brighter as the leaves have been repainted gold in honor of its 100th anniversary.
This story is especially meaningful to me because Cornelia is my hometown. Even more special, my great-grandfather, Floyd Knight, was the artist who first painted the Big Red Apple 100 years ago. He painted it to resemble a real apple.
What a privilege to see this landmark continue to be cared for and celebrated a century later.
