🌧️ Backyard Flooding Reported In St. Pauls Thursday Evening

🌊 Heavy rain Thursday evening left water pooling and rising across the backyard of a home in St. Pauls, showing just how quickly some low lying areas can collect water during a downpour.

🏡 St. Pauls has dealt with drainage and stormwater flooding concerns during heavy rainfall in the past, with improvement projects developed to help reduce flooding in portions of town.

⚠️ Residents should continue to use caution around standing water and avoid attempting to drive through flooded roadways.

🔎 Man Wanted for Mvrder Case Near Pembroke NC

👮 The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Jeremy Park Bullard, 55, of Pembroke, in connection with the death of a Rowland man.

🏠 Deputies responded around 4:48 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, to a home at 473 Oxendine Road, west of Pembroke, after receiving a report of an unresponsive man.

🕊️ The man was pronounced deceased when deputies arrived. The NC Medical Examiner’s Office later identified him as William Eugene Bullard, 65, of Rowland.

📄 Investigators have not publicly disclosed how William Bullard died or what they believe led to his death. The Sheriff’s Office clarified that the two men are not related despite having the same last name.

🚧 Major Lane Changes Begin At NC 211 In Lumberton NC

🚗 Drivers should prepare for tighter lanes and possible backups around North Roberts Avenue and Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, North Carolina.

📅 CURRENT TIMELINE

🏗️ Work on this phase was underway Tuesday, Aug. 25.

⏳ An end date has not been announced for the temporary lane pattern.

🏁 The full Fayetteville Road improvement project is scheduled for completion by summer 2030.

🚧 CURRENT TRAFFIC CHANGES

↔️ North Roberts Avenue, also known as NC 211, is temporarily being reduced from five lanes to four between Jerry Giles Park near North Walnut Street and Fayetteville Road.

↩️ The center turning lane will be removed through part of the work zone. A shorter turning lane will remain near the traffic signal.

🚙 Boomerang Drive has been reduced from three lanes to two while crews widen one side. Traffic will eventually shift onto the completed section so work can begin on the opposite side.

⚠️ WHAT DRIVERS SHOULD EXPECT

⏰ Left turns near Fayetteville Road could cause backups, especially during morning and afternoon traffic.

👷 Lane markings and traffic patterns may change as construction moves through different phases.

🗺️ Drivers should consider another route when possible and allow additional travel time.

🛣️ The current work involves replacing a culvert beneath North Roberts Avenue. It is part of a larger $39 million project covering 1.3 miles of Fayetteville Road from East 22nd Street to Farringdom Street.

🚦 Future improvements include additional travel lanes, new signals at both ends of Boomerang Drive and a roundabout near East 24th Street and North Cedar Street.

🕊️Rest In Peace: Kianna Jones 💜

💜 ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. — Family, friends and members of the Robeson County community are remembering Kianna T. Jones, a 24-year-old Rowland woman whose life was tragically taken Thursday night.

🌷 Kianna was a loved and valued member of her family and community. As her loved ones remember her life, they are asking for justice, support and awareness about the circumstances they say preceded her death.

📞 At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 20, Robeson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 100 block of Indian Heritage Road near Ivey Road, just northeast of Lumberton, after receiving a report that someone had been sh0t.

🚔 Deputies found Kianna deceased inside a vehicle. Investigators identified Martev Gunter of St. Pauls as another person targeted during the incident. The Sheriff’s Office reported that Gunter was not injured.

🔎 On Saturday, investigators arrested Cedrione K. McDowell, 22, of Lumberton. The U.S. Marshals Carolinas Fugitive Task Force assisted the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest.

⚖️ McDowell has been charged with first-degree mvrder in connection with Kianna’s death, attempted first-degree mvrder involving Gunter and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

🏛️ A judge denied McDowell bond during his first court appearance Monday, Aug. 24. He remains held at the Robeson County Detention Center as the case moves through the court system.

💜 Kianna’s family states that the incident stemmed from DV involving a former boyfriend and described the relationship as a bad one. Law enforcement has not publicly announced an official motive.

🚓 SC Pursuit Leads To Wanted Man Being Found In Robeson County

🔎 A vehicle pursuit that began in South Carolina eventually turned into a multi-agency search that crossed state and county lines, ending with a wanted Tabor City man being located in Robeson County.

🚔 According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, Horry County Police attempted to stop a vehicle on Aug. 19. Authorities say the driver did not stop, leading officers on a pursuit.

⚠️ Investigators say that during the pursuit, someone inside the vehicle allegedly threw a f!rearm from a window. The vehicle eventually stopped, but the driver reportedly got out and ran into a wooded area.

📄 Horry County Police identified the driver as Brian David Riggins Jr., 34, of Tabor City. Authorities said Riggins had a previous federal feIony conviction, and w/\rrants were later obtained for his arr€st.

🔎 By the following day, investigators had received information concerning Riggins and his outstanding South Carolina w/\rrants.

🤝 That information brought several agencies together. Deputies with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and Robeson County Sheriff’s Office worked alongside members of the Border Belt Task Force to track him down.

🚓 Their search led to Robeson County, where authorities said Riggins was located and taken into cust0dy.

🌎 The case is an example of how investigations can quickly cross jurisdictional lines. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office credited cooperation between regional agencies with allowing investigators to share information, personnel and resources during the search.
