Flood Watch issued for Page County until midnight. Several rounds of slow moving showers and thunderstorms are expected to move across Central Virginia and parts of the Shenandoah Valley through late this evening. Around 1 to 3 inches of rain have already fallen in parts of the Watch area. Additional rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches are likely for some locations, with isolated higher totals possible if thunderstorms become stalled.

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southwestern Page County in northwestern Virginia... Southern Shenandoah County in northwestern Virginia... Central Rockingham County in western Virginia...

* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 449 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Dale Enterprise, or 7 miles north of Harrisonburg, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
Broadway, Shenandoah, Alma, Newport, Honeyville, Ingham, Cherry Grove, Lacey Spring, Singers Glen, Linville, and Sparkling Springs.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
