Summer garden out fall garden in!

This year we are trying out our hand at collard greens, mixed lettuce, lots of carrots, and more! During our clean out we did run into some unwanted guests such as hornworms and Japanese jumping worms!! Besides that our soil has came a long way from when we first moved in! Our yard was a solid sheet of clay for the first year. That being said I believe out next investment is from Uncle Jim's Worm Farm. We desperately need to get some life back into our soil one step at a time.

Well, I guess it was bound to happen eventually…

We officially had our first thief at the farm stand — not once, but twice. Friday AND Saturday. But they did leave us a dollar….

Our farm stand operates on an honor system, which means we put our trust in the people who stop by. We work hard to grow, bake, can, package, and prepare everything you see. This isn’t a big grocery store with endless inventory — it’s a small local business built from a lot of time, money, and hard work.

If you can’t afford something, please ask. We would much rather help someone out than find out they decided to help themselves.

But taking something without paying isn’t “just a jar of jelly” or “just a baked good.” It’s taking money directly out of a small family business.

So, to our new friends who apparently needed a reminder: the farm stand is an honor system. Please honor it.

And to everyone who DOES pay, supports us, shares our posts, and continues to show us that good people still exist — thank you. We appreciate you more than you know.
