I had the chance to visit Walt Disney’s apartment in Disneyland, and it was such a special experience.

One of my favorite details? The lamp in the window is always kept on. When the park first opened, Cast Members knew that if the light was on, Walt was in the park, so they worked extra hard. Now, it stays lit as a symbol that his presence is always there 🥹 A beautiful tribute 💡✨

I did the Walt’s Main Street Story tour solo—walking with a group of couples and some mother daughter duos but fully embracing the experience on my own.

For 90 minutes, I got lost in the history and magic of Main Street, learning new details and fun facts.

As a people pleaser, I often worry about making sure everyone around me is comfortable, liked, and happy. But before the tour, I reminded myself: I didn’t need to focus on anyone else’s opinions. I could simply be present, enjoy the experience, and take in the moments for myself.

And that’s exactly what I did.

I had a wonderful time, and when I teared up in Walt’s apartment, I didn’t feel silly—I let myself fully feel the moment. It was like my own little special Disney memory. The firehouse apartment even smelled like my Great Grandma Lewis’s house, which brought back the sweetest memories of some of my childhood.

A truly magical experience and 10/10 recommend this tour. 🏰🐭✨
