Today, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office announced award recipients from its Tennessee Lifesavers Conference & Law Enforcement Challenge held Aug. 6 – 8, 2025. Agencies and individuals were recognized for excelling in child passenger safety, drug recognition, teen driver safety, traffic enforcement, and more.

Every year, the THSO hosts this event to empower highway safety professionals and reward extraordinary efforts made to reduce traffic fatalities statewide.

While critical of leadership, investors stressed they want the distillery to succeed. “We want to see Uncle Nearest thrive – not a fire sale,” one said. “We were sold a story – a business plan and an exit plan. It’s frustrating.”

Several investors say that they have been “openly questioning” the distillery’s practices and leadership, citing a lack of transparency in financial reporting.
