In the 90s, gunfire echoed through my hometown, and blood was spilled everywhere. The skies turned dark, and the sun seemed to fade away. The land was littered with lifeless bodies, while children cried, left homeless and lost. Families were torn apart, and women and young girls faced unimaginable horrors. Some were forced onto the battlefield, compelled to take up arms and fight.

In my hometown, hope vanished, drowned in the innocent blood that was shed. Our rivers, streams, and creeks ran red, and there was no food or safe drinking water. Each day was a struggle for survival, a battle just to make it through.

On the roadside, children were abandoned, with no hope to cling to. They wandered aimlessly, lost and adrift. Schools were a distant memory, health centers lay in ruins, and we had no clothes to wear as we fought off various diseases.

This road has crushed my dreams, leading my hometown into a cycle of suffering that continues to this day. It has stolen my joy and hope, leaving me with a deep, lasting sorrow. Since the 90s, I’ve been walking a lonely, dark path that seems to stretch on forever.
