Roseville Barricaded Gunman Charged and Arraigned with Assault with Intent to Murder and other Gun Felonies

Donald Pickett a 39-year-old Roseville man was charged and arraigned in connection with allegedly shooting two women at a home in Roseville, and then barricading himself inside before finally surrendering to police after an hours-long standoff

It is alleged that early Monday, April 21, 2025, Donald Richard Pickett shot two women at a house on the 20100 block of Macel Street, around 14 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue. When police arrived at the home, they found the two women down on the ground with injuries. One woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her leg, and the other had a gunshot wound to her foot. One victim told officers the armed suspect remained in the home, where after several hours of standoff, Mr. Pickett surrendered.

Picket was arrested and is charged with eight criminal counts as follows:

Counts 1-2: Assault With Intent to Murder, each count a felony punishable for life or any number of years.

Counts 3-6: Weapons Felony Firearm, each count a mandatory two-year sentence.

Count 7: Weapons - Fi****ms - Possession by Prohibited Person, a five-year felony

Count 8: Weapons - Ammunition - Possession by Prohibited Person, a five-year felony

Today, at approximately 12:50pm, Lakeview High School went into a precautionary short lockdown (10-15 minutes). The lockdown was in response to a teacher finding a 9mm bullet casing on her desk.

The teacher (and her class) were on a fieldtrip. Upon returning from the field trip, she reported finding the bullet casing. When the lockdown was initiated, Det. Jacque-main was already on site and assisted with the lockdown procedure.

After interviewing the substitute teacher who was previously in the classroom, he stated that he had found the bullet casing in Mt. Clemens and put it in his pocket. He brought the bullet casing to school in his pocket and was "fidgeting" with it and left it on the desk.

Once the issue was solved we lifted the lockdown and had students proceed about their regular day. Our School Resource Officer and SCSPD completed a background check and search on the substitute teacher and the substitute teacher has been relieved of his duties.
No other issues were found during this lockdown procedure.

All students and staff were safe and followed lockdown procedures properly.

📣 THE ST CLAIR SHORES POLICE DEPARTMENT IS ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING THESE JUVENILES

The three pictured juveniles entered a garage in the area of Walton and Manhattan and stole three bikes. Shortly after, one of the stolen bikes was dumped near Statler and Culver where another bike was stolen.
